Ring cameras

"Can't even walk through my neighborhood without feeling like every step of my journey is being recorded by the Ring cameras on everyone's house. I understand people use these for safety and other conveniences but it just feels like another extension of the panopticon."

"Ring cameras are one thing (seems unnecessary a lot of times, I guess package theft is a real problem though - but does anything ever hapen to those people caught on camera? Doubt the police do much about it) But why are so many videos posted on reddit and elsewhere footage from people's homes?"
